I just built a new garage and want to go with jack shaft openers for the doors. My ceiling is scissor trusses so it's not flat. Since the wall and ceiling isn't a 90*, what are you guys using for the tracks to go up the scissor truss? I want some of the door to follow the roof line so I'm not...

I've done this in my enclosed trailer. You can get fixed length straps made by Mac I believe. I would pull in a little to far with the winch, hook the straps up then let the car roll back. Then I would tighten the car down from the rear with ratchet straps.

This is probably a stupid question... but can mild steel be welded to Stainless Steel? I've got an O2 bung that is mild steel that I need to weld to my stainless exhaust. I'm to new at tig welding to try it so if it can be done I'll MIG it. If not I'll order SS bungs and have it TIG welded...

I'd cut the OSB about 2" up off the concrete floor. If not, even though the walls are painted tjw OSB is going to wick the water up. I'd also get sheets of FRP board and glue them to the walls standing up.

Ok thanks guys. I originally tried it w 3/32 rod and tungsten, I think I'll try dropping down to 1/16. What size cup would you guys reccomend, and how much stick out?

I need some advice / help on what am I doing wrong. I'm trying to weld an inside corner and I can't figure it out. The 2 pieces are different thicknesses, 1/16" piece into 1/8" piece. Once I get the puddle started on the 1/8" it burnes through the thinner piece. I've tried extending the tungsten...

What do you mean by "blue belt"? Type of sand paper? I'm not looking for a certain brand, I just one a good brand that isn't going to grenade on me...

What bench mounted belt sanders sre you guys using? I got a POS Royobi (4X36 belt) that sounds like it's eating it's self apart. All the ones I've found look like the Royobi, just re badged. Thanks

Ok thanks I'll use the grinder to cut them. I usually do sharpen a couple as I go. I'm assuming the blackness is do to touching the aluminum.. I'm new to this so it happens.. it might also be the post flow. I have it turned down because I thought it helped with the weld after your done welding...
