How to install long roof panels.......by yourself

I've done 12" wide snap-loc 22' long by myself with a slide of 2x4 and 1/2 ply. The tricky part as you all know is either keeping them flat or on edge supported evenly. These would fold up if the slightest wind hit them while is was holding in the middle on edge. So the slide worked perfect...

How long do you trust open brake fluid to still be good ?

What he said, all depends on the humidity where one resides. Here in the PNW it's gone in a month w/o a lid, a few months with a lid.

Question on extending plumbing through drywall for faucets

Those Woodford valves will work great, I would eliminate the existing valves or put an access door for them. I have the Woodford mud sil valves (frost free) on the outside of my garage for washing cars....very nice having hot water so close.

    Floor Drain Separator Option

So you're saying you drive into your garage and #50 snow, (roughly 5 gallons) runs off your car and you need to separate the ? From the water before it ins out the strip drain and outside the building? I'm not clear on how this works yet....in NH. Montana folks I know don't seem to have issues...

Why would you want a drain in your shop floor? Are you planning to wash cars inside? Just curious.

    Must use osb!.....metal roof.....condensation question

I know it rains a lot less in Rentin than down here in Grays Harbor (extreme western WA) but osb is asking for trouble when used on roofs and the lower portion of wall sheathing... 1\2" CDX is min. Yes plywood is more expensive but I only is it for anything other than a shed, (known as a...

    Compressor Shed.

So.... There are many reasons to locate a compressor outside other than noise, but the main one where I live is MOISTURE! They by nature make water (actually they concentrate moisture) if you're compressor is in a warm room, the moisture will stay in vapor form and end up condensing when the...

    Westinghouse 1BYC Compressor

I just rebuilt a 1yc, it sounds almost exactly the same, parts were easy to find and it works perfect with A 5hp single phase motor.

    Locate air compressor outside.

Let's visit this whole compressor location one more time....the reason compressors are outside is the need to be cool, cold is ok too, if kept warm they breed water, water in airlines and air tools is bad. The air should be either dropped in temp, or kept cool before use, or add a refrigerated...

    Questions about my compressor plumbing.

This has been both informational and amusing, thanks for both. Now I'll add my bit of input, this whole moisture in the air system plumbing issue depends on many factors, but then most of that has been covered, and covered, and covered. I used to be a bit exasperated when I see the same...

Someone please talk me out of buying this

Make sure the top is. It welded on, it's way too easy to warp even a thick plate that way and a lot of work to straighten.... I love my 3/4" top for jigging up heavy stuff but I did similar projects with my old much thinner bench so it's possible. IMO

Suggestions on building new heavy workbenches.

Remember to bolt the tops on. Drill and tap blind holes if you can. Use the edges also to attach. welding will distort, yes even thick stuff, someone put 1" tacks across the middle of my 3'x10' welding fab bench and those 4 welds lifted the middle an eighth inch! On another note I have been...
