Re: What did you do to your garage today?
Finished the rinky dinky insulation. The ones where you have to cut to fit the end pieces, over the doors, etc. Two bags. Now all the 2x4 walls are done.
I patiently wait for the R28 to get here.
Re: What did you do to your garage today?
Bought 18 bags of R28 Roxul.
Should get here in a week. ... :D:D:D
BS at work encourages me to work on my garage faster.
Re: What did you do to your garage today?
Sweeet. I get to post in this thread.
Today felt like a very productive day. Had some decent weather so I put up new insulation. I put up seven bags of Roxul R14.
It covered MOST of the 2x4 walls. I still have the corners to do (skinny sections), and...
I will have 240 in the garage, but that was going to go in the trench along with the gas line.
So, right now, there is only 120, on a 15 amp breaker.
We plan on upgrading it to 240 with a 70 Amp sub panel in the garage.
Lathe is going to be 50 amp, but I probably wont be drawing that much...
Hi GJ.
I would be lieing if I said I didn't see this coming. Long story short is that my wife didn't want me to start renovating the garage until I had business insurance and a business license.
Well now its too ****** cold to do anything to the ground.
Two questions really.
Question number...
Upon further research, and talking with one of the machine technicians, I'm not going to wire the 220 stuff into the wall.
The tech want to see the lathe connected directly. And I don't know if I will be buying a saw when I buy the lathe.
Soooo, I guess it's all moot then. :(
But can you guys...
Re: what did you do in your garage today?
Installed new boxes for upcoming reno. We put in something like 12 rectangle boxes, and four octogon boxes for lights. Still need three more rectangle boxes, another octo, and two 4" squar boxes for 220.
Feels good man.
Hey GJ!
I finally got to start laying out elec for my reno. It feels soooo good to finally to start putting stuff in. So far we put the new boxes in place. Next weekend, we'll be installing the sub panel and wiring.
My reno is based around turning my garage (44 ft long, 13 ft wide) into a home...
Just like 2fat2fly, I have a whole garage reno to try to accomplish. The old cabinets, insulation and drywall are all pulled out. I finished sweeping today to get ready for the real work.
Including, but not limited to:
New man door (insulated steel) pre-hung
New window to replace the plywood...
