Ya, pretty much. I looked up the warranty for a few companies and I believe it was genie that had a lifetime warranty, but it was ONLY on the motor. Pretty much all the other parts had a 3-5 year warranty.

What was wrong with what he said? Also, how would they even know he lubed it with something slightly different than what they recommend?

So I use specialized garage door spray for the rollers, silicon spray for outside, lithium greese for the rails, used AND unused motor oil for the spring, and gear oil to shove up my a##. Got it. I came here to figure out what was optimal to minimize wear and noise for the longest service...
