    Cutting 1/2" plate

A note about the metal cutting saw blades in circular saws, they sell slower turning metal cutting circular saws. You put that blade in your typical wood cutting circular saw and you are going to burn it up in thicker material.

You can have it cut on a shear. A big shear. There is a shop in my area that can sheer 1" plate.

Anyone order from Lehigh Valley Abrasives?

Heck yes. I love their products, service and the fact that they make their own discs in house in the USA. I have ordered their wire wheels, cut offs, flap discs, rollocs, baby 2" zircon flap disc (which are amazing), clean and strip discs. Their house brand stuff is inexpensive and really...

    Show us your welding projects

For plug welding the molding holes in panels, i like to use a chunk of brass, or if that wont fit a piece of copper, to back up the hole, than weld away, the weld wont stick to the brass/copper. Take a piece of copper pipe, smash one end in a vise and bend it over a little bit, ta da! Or buy...

Check out this home made all-wood car lift!

It is funny to see all the people who think its unsafe or won't hold up calling that guy stupid and all sorts of names. I bet that wooden contraption will take a higher load than most 4 post lifts. Compare the foundation of the average wooden home to that. It is almost entirely in compression...
