I find this thread interesting as I work for 3M in a facility that manufactures the Filtrete media. I dont know if the info you seek is available to the public but I can tell you that the labs run pressure drop tests regularly and at different stages of assembly. Not sure why the 1900 filter...

I did something similar, I just taped my brush to a dowel rod and cut in with that. Worked really well actually, just a little slow.

I used the starter bump trick on my 07 TL with no problems, it was the only way we could get mine loose. We ran a jumper straight to the starter itself to bypass the auto start feature (once you bump the key forward it cranks until it starts). One quick tap was all it took to loosen it enough to...
