59, pre block I guess. Similar to the 66 in appearance, but is cast. Wire brushed the body and left it raw. Replaced 2 wire cord to 3 wire. Tool rest was broken off on left side so just made a clean cut. Works good for the wire wheel. I like how they turned out so I guess I'll keep both...
Picked up a 66 block a few weeks ago. Didn't know anything about them. $40 craigslist. Really good shape as you can see. I believe the wheels were original. Glass was good and had all the parts. Cleaned her up and new bearings. Didn't paint the body, just the tin. Then by luck I happened...
Just curious if there should be a washer on the spindle b4 the flange and one on the outside. This is how it was when i bought it. Is this how it normally is? I bought this and it has 3/4" wide wheels. If I didnt use the washers a 1" wheel looks like it would work. ?? Thanks for any advice.
I'm sure there has been plenty discussion on here about this and I searched the forum ( Bench grinder wheels ) and the search returns threads that have no relevance. I rarely have any luck using the search on here. ?? Maybe I'm missing something.
Anyway, I need 6" bench grinder wheels...
I'm going to remove the template from the grinder which has very small rivets. What is the procedure to replace those? Do you use a pop rivet gun for rivets that small?? Thanks
Hi. I have an older grinder with 6 x 3/4 x 1/2" arbor wheels. Seems hard to find that size wheel. Is it common to just buy 1" arbor wheels and use a bushing? And if so, where to buy the bushing?? Also a good place to buy the wheels. Thanks.
I have a 1966 Block grinder. 1/3 hp. I am going to replace the bearings which are New departure 77503, which I can't find. How do I go about ordering new bearings and are these deep groove bearings? Ball or roller? And should I go with skf or is cheap ok? Thanks for any advice.
