Added two motion lights, and a safety heater, and my bill doubles????

I have a Dual-brite garage light with two 100w halogen bulbs and I LOVE it. It maybe costs me $4-5 a month to run, I'll spend a little extra to have my driveway illuminated. at 65 w, your lights should only cost you $5-6 extra.

    Empire propane fireplace problem

There is an issue with one of the safety sensors shutting the system down. Either a sensor needs replacement, or there are other issues that need to be addressed by a professional. The thing that needs to be "by-passed" would be the pilot safety cut off system. You cannot by-pass it and if you...

    Nat Gas Shut Off

A shut off needs to be within 3' of every appliance. If you never need to service or replace that appliance, you can just shut off that valve to isolate it from the rest of the system and won't have to shut off gas to your entire house. Shut it off at the service valve at the meter and don't...

    Thermostat placement

I would put it near where you spend most of your time. That way the stat will keep the area in which you spend most of your time a constant temperature.

looking for a new air compressor

I prefer Quincy over IR. I had a Quincy that was made in the 1950's and had a friend put new rings and valves, it's still running like a champ almost 60 years later!!! BTW, I rescued the pump out of someone's junk pile!! The Quincy will be the last compressor you will have to buy...

strange white powder after muratic bath?

Use just a water hose, no nozzle, at the start, then pressure wash. A slower stream from the hose creates a sheeting effect which pulls the acid along with the water. Like washing a well waxed car, the slower stream pulls water along.

    Quincy Compressors in tandem?

I would go to a Quincy dealer and get one of their QR-25 series compressors. I had a 310 model that was made on 1959 that I put new rings and valves in (I traded some sb ford parts for the rebuild kit) and that thing still runs like a champ!!! I have a friend that has the 340 and that thing is...

    Ventless NG Heater Experience

A 30k btu vent free heater will use about 30 cubic feet of gas per hour. The cost of gas varies per location. The reason we are told to open a window is for make up air for combustion. They tell you to open a window because there are some people that will put a 30kbtu vent free gas heater in a...
