Well we have had record setting snowfall here in Ontario this winter. The building is rated for these winters.. but apparently the eaves troughs are not. one side is already being peeled off by the sliding snow. I thought the shallow roof slope would stop this from happening but apparently not...
We were quickly running out of money and it was starting to cool off. I accepted that we probably wouldn't be able to afford spray foam before winter, but I wanted it to at least be somewhat usable. I opted to wire just half of the shop for now. This was a bit disappointing, but I had to remind...
so like some of you mentioned, it's amazing how quickly these buildings go together when the builders know what they're doing. As I mentioned before, the man who did the concrete had a very similar building for his own personal garage, and because he had erected his himself, he was willing to...
that sounds like it'll be a rad little car. I love the notches so much. I grew up drooling over Japanese cars, and for whatever reason the notches very much remind me of 80s Japanese boxy greatness. I unfortunately dont have any builds on other forums, but I have documented the build quite...
I made this thread, then got so caught up in the actual build that I forgot to update it! Here is the video on the entire process start to finish. I put a lot of work into it and would love to hear what you think!
I'll continue to add photos to this thread as if i didn't forget to update it...

and the guys got to work putting it up. amazing how quickly they go together when you know what you're doing. this was a crew of 2 (sometimes 3) guys.
and finally, the part...

Then, the experts came in. I got lucky with this contractor, he has been fantastic to deal with. Turned out, he had just finished a similar steel building for himself, and he had me over to check out his to see what I was getting for my money. Needless to say it had me very excited. He is...
we kept plugging away
it was starting to take shape
I had been dreaming about the day I'd finally be able to drive a vehicle up that driveway. When the time came to finally pull my truck in, it felt like a monumental achievement.
its really hard to illustrate just how much of a slope this was and how dense it was with trees.
We were very lucky to have an arborist for a neighbour that saved us a ton of money and headache. we had to take down 7 or 8 x 60+ft maple trees that had caused a few restless nights due to their...
Hey Guys,
Long time listener first time caller. First ever post so hopefully formatting etc is done correctly. I am lucky enough to have started building my dream garage earlier this year, but it has been quite a headache. Never taken on anything like this before, never hired a contractor...
