Continuing to run conduit once inside is for shielding as well as safety? ....... and do I stay with PVC conduit inside?

as far as drop at start, that's a drop often we often deal with on diesels & upgrade the starter cables..........
in other situations don't capacitors aide in the start up.....
20 AMP was on the motor ~ yes 6/3 at a big box store in copper is gonna mess up $1,600 +
How much better off amps/voltage wise would I be with 6/3 copper or aluminum~ ?
