Help with replacement lock cylinder vintage Mac tool box

On these older vintage Mac toolboxes, the locking cylinder seems prone to fail. I have one Mac top box that is on the edge (so I don't lock it). Interested if anyone on GJ has found replacement lock parts.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Unexpected tire flat on my wife's car this morning... she picked up a nail/screw and came back home to swap cars and continue into work. WIfe had not gotten far, so that is fortunate. So I had to scramble to the house garage, get out my floor jack, etc and pull the tire and wheel off. Good...

    The New Atomic World HQ

Very exciting, Ryan! Good neighbors are hard to find nowadays. I live out in the countryside now... away from all that.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I spent most of my time today pulling things out of my garage to do outdoor activities. But I did drag out and service my pressure washer... and put it to work washing down the wife's car. And then I looked at my truck and thought, what the hell. After pressure-washing the Silerado, I found...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Welp I was not even supposed to be in the garage today (since it's Mother's Day)... however Mama had the idea that we should do some freebie estate-sale shopping. So I spent a little time with lubricants, degreaser and red shop rags cleaning and servicing some "new to me" equipment, whilst...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Nope, you have the right idea there. Pull up a seat in front of a campfire and relax. Best idea ever.

2026 Garage Sale Thread (15th Annual)

I have not contributed to this, my favorite GJ thread, in quite a while. Enjoy reading everyone's finds. Well as luck would have it... today my wife was enjoying her mother's day breakfast (prepared by my daughter and I) and she decided we should go and check out a local estate sale that was...

    Help Supporting Overhead Shelf

Lots of good advice here. However, the construction of your shop matters when it comes to load - bearing. Hard to provide sound advice if we don't know enough about your build and what is a load-bearing beam in your ceiling. So take it with a grain of salt. The chain or all-thread suspended...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Well, this happened outside of my garage and equipment shed... but heck, the sun was out! Rewired the harness on a second-hand Kawasaki Mule 600 (with known electrical issues)... so new regulator/rectifier, new battery and replacement fuses and pigtails to keep the currents flowing. Now back...

    Show off your woodworking

All right... I am in some serious company here. Lots of great wood projects. I may be out of my league. Disclaimer: this project is not furniture-grade woodworking. It is a boot bench and mudroom storage. We live in the country, so we needed some practical boot, coat and gloves/hat storage...

    A Cobbler’s Shop

Just read this. Interesting. My boot rotation includes Danner, Dan Post and an old pair of Chippewa boots. Mostly western work boots and lace up work boots. I usually have my boots repaired if needed (like resole), but I also use shoe care products such as Huberd's Shoe Oil, Huberd's Shoe...

Don't leave home without a pair of Channellocks in the truck. Standard tool kit. I do tend to collect pliers for some reason...

Single do it all device for occasional pulling and maybe lifting

Have used both. Recently had to use both come-alongs and a lever (long pry bar) to move a chicken coop/shed into place on its new gravel base. There may have been some coarse language involved. Really depends on what it is you need to move, how heavy and whether you are pulling or lifting...
