My Two-Car Tandem Garage in Vancouver

I believe it was 1" Durofoam, it has green backing on the other side. It was mostly friction fit, but I used a bit of construction adhesive to keep the panels in place

My Two-Car Tandem Garage in Vancouver

Canadian winters can be cold, but not Vancouver winter! We only went below zero for a few days in December and then the temps shot up to ~ 5-10 degrees. I still ended up insulating the garage door, because I wanted to keep the heat inside in the winter, and the heat outside in the summer. I...

Receptacles; arrange as quad or duplex?

Quads every 6' for me... You can *almost* never have TOO many outlets :) I mounted mine high, 42" from the floor so they are easy to access.

    Mpls Organized Chaos

You should consider some shelving where the ceiling meets the wall. I ran over 25' of shelving in an area that is otherwise unused. What is the slat wall made of? I used to run the fiberboard pegboard, and after six or seven years, they started to deform and sag. I'm looking for a new...

I bought it just over the border at Harbor Freight. I think I caught it on sale for $149 USD.

    Jdeck's 20x20 Garage\Auto Shop

Wow, this brings me back memories of working on Honda's with friends in college!! It's too bad most of my friends who used to work on cars moved on to other things. I miss my CRX.

Wow, money does solve all problems :) Something to consider if I decide to bite the bullet on the scissor lift.

There is more! Most of these new developments in Vancouver (townhomes) have unfinished garages. The drywall gets installed and taped, but it's not mudded and finished. I forgot how much I hate drywalling until now. But... it's somewhat rewarding after a fresh coat of paint! Also, not sure...

My Two-Car Tandem Garage in Vancouver

It's 11 feet wide until the little nook area in the back, that's about 14.5'. The length is around 35' - just enough for two cars and two motorbikes IF I didn't have so much stuff in there :D

My Two-Car Tandem Garage in Vancouver

Thanks guys! This is all old pics from the summer, I'll try to keep it chronological. I had a friend in the paint business, and he got me some industrial grade epoxy floor paint, with a siloxane topcoat (I believe the sales pitch was that this PSX700 coating is used by NASA on the launch pad -...

My Two-Car Tandem Garage in Vancouver

After bumming around for shop space all around town and my parents garage space for many years, my girl and I decided to move out of the apartment life and get a townhome with a garage! Unfortunately, it's a double long (tandem) garage, but that isn't going to stop me from building my workshop...

    Wifi in the garage

Ubiquiti equipment is awesome! I use their airstation to create point to point wifi links over 2 miles and get really good reliability and speeds. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004EGI3CI/?tag=atomicindus08-20

    Scissor lift ... downside??

I've been looking at the Bendpak MD6XP, a center scissor lift. One thing I will need to eventually do is install a clutch on a RWD car. How is access to the trans tunnel on a RWD with a scissor lift? I'm imagining I'd have a hell of a time trying to yank a transmission out with a center lift.
