    The VISES of Garage Journal

This 4.25” jaw Wilton now rides on the back of my service truck. When I got it the main nut was worn through and required some modification. Not exciting, but it works

    Duplex 20” tool box

I have a duplex tool box that measures 20”x11”x13”. The original handle on top broke so I made a new one out of a small piece of steel pipe and 2 s hooks. It’s a tomb stone shape but not cantilever, nor does it have a tray. The latch has an integrated lock, which I do have the key for. Good...

Can anyone tell me anything about this box? The p.o. told me it was from the 70s but was unsure of the brand. Any ideas?

    Wilton 1644 vise

Bad Jackson, I was disappointed when Wilton couldn’t help. I have done all the scouring I’m willing to do and have turned to a machine shop for some assistance. This vise is probably not worth spending the money I’m about to spend, but it will get fixed

    Wilton 1644 vise

I am curious as to how you are sure that is the correct part. The description gives no dimensions nor thread pitch information. It also does not mention the exact model number of my vise

    Wilton 1644 vise

Hi all! I am new to this forum and this is my first time posting, so all help is appreciated. I have an old Wilton 1644 bench vise and the main nut is worn through on the top side. I am in need of a nut that fits the main screw, so I can use it to create the new part, or if anyone knows of a...
