Updated a few product links the main post. Some of the vendors have changed the urls to their products after 3 years, imagine that

    Epoxy-Coat & Legacy Industrial Garage

Good day neighbors! Just wanted to post an update on how the floor is holding up. 3-year follow-up added to 1st post in thread. Much love to Epoxy-coat and Legacy Industrial! I have really enjoyed hearing feedback that this thread has helped others undertaking the same project.

Todd, Yes I used regular masking tape and removed it right after applying the epoxies (both primer and epoxy-coat) while the epoxy was still "wet". I can't speak to what happens if you don't fill the expansion cracks since I did fill mine (product listed on 1st page). Because I did fill it I...

Sure, you are more than welcome! The clear coat most certainly isn't required. In my case, with using as much flake as I did I wanted a smoother looking finish and, in honesty, wanted a floor that will last as long as possible ....so I opted for the clear coat.

What I did, and would do again, is use some masking tape to mask off the edge of the scribe line that is on the ouside of the garage door and run the epoxy into the scribe allowing it to fill/accumulate but not overflow the scribed line. The masking tape should prevent from getting any misc...

Yep, as Scotty mentions, a scribe/cut/line directly below where the garge door sits is what I found to be the best solution. I had contemplated epoxying all the way out to the edge of the apron but didn't want there to be a visible difference between the epoxy on the inside vs the outside after...

    Epoxy-Coat & Legacy Industrial Garage

Yep, filled the gaps to ensure it looked smooth & pretty. I had read some posts saying that even 100% solids wouldn't necessarily fill hairline cracks. So, I did it just to be sure. As with many DIYers I read countless & confusing posts where some did and other didn't. In the end, I was fairly...

The legacy primer went down very easily with a paint pan & roller. It had the conisistency at the beginning of a heavy paint and near the end of the 45 minutes it took to apply it was quite a bit thicker and tackier. After curing/drying it did appear to have been absorbed into the concrete a...

    Epoxy-Coat & Legacy Industrial Garage

From the research I did I think Legacy Industrial has great products and I am very happy with their primer, so I don't want to take anything away from them. I chose Epoxy-coat simply because I read a substantial amount of great reviews, I thought their all-inclusive "kit" with all the tools...
