    John sterling heavyweight track shelving.

I have them along a back wall in my garage. No surprises really, they work well and the price is reasonable at Menards.

    Rototiller experience

I have a Mantis XP, which looks similar to the Maxim Mini Max. I mainly got it because I got a killer deal (~$250 new) and it is easy to store, but a rear tine model will certainly beat it in all practical aspects. There is a learning curve and it will beat you up a bit at first, but it does...

Another WIFI to the shop question

I use two Ubiquiti Nanobeams and they work well enough; obviously not as fast running a wire. I have one bridge in the house basement mounted to a floor joist and aimed through the side of the house, and the second in a window of the shop (behind a curtain) and pointed towards the house. In my...

Gladiator Geartrack - J and L Hooks Loose

I've had some success bending the small upper tab outwards a bit to lock them tighter. They will still move around if they get bumped, but for my application this was good enough.

What's on your walls? Neat storage ideas!

Good point, and you helped jog my memory. I used the leaning bike rack, with 2 bikes, in a breezeway with 8' ceilings, so height should not be an issue for stacking 2 bikes.

What's on your walls? Neat storage ideas!

I have a variety of mounts that I've cycled through based on need. If you're looking for something easily re-configurable and off-the-shelf, I am pretty heavily invested in the Gladiator system and have both the horizontal and vertical bike mounts. The advantage here is that you can also hang...

What's on your walls? Neat storage ideas!

Do you have more space horizontally along the length of the wall, or extending away from the wall?

    Camberlain Garage door fault

I had a logic board failure on a newer Chamberlain a few years back and, from my research, it was not uncommon. However, I also had a display panel specifically identifying the issue as such so there was no question. They were good with troubleshooting and ultimately gave me the parts for free...

    Gas vs battery lawnmowers

I got a nice Snapper XD 82v for my parents yard last year when the electric start on their old gas-powered Toro was giving problems (worn flywheel). Unfortunately, it couldn't handle the thickness of their grass so I returned it; note the old Toro handled the same grass without issue. Still on...

Owners of Detached Shops & Attached Garages: How do You Distribute Tools?

This. Started out with everything in the detached garage, then shifted stuff around and/or doubled up on tools for house-use when I better understood what tools were frequently used in there. I try to keep tools in the detached garage by default, for the sake of organization and de-cluttering...

Tool Chests, wow so many choices, which one?

FWIW - Recently went through this struggle myself and ended up with a Masterforce from Menards. From my research, both online and in person, they feel slightly more robust than the USG HF and Husky models, but are also a bit more expensive nowadays so there is a trade-off.
