Amen to that. My city has a 2019 edition that defines what they adopted/amended from the 2018 IRC. So all should be good.

Little update. The 2024 IRC does have a requirement worth knowing. "R317.7 Automotive Lifts. Where provided, automotive lifts shall be listed and labeled in accordance with ANSI/ALI ALCTV." Mine is not. But, I'm pretty sure my municipality is still on the 2018 IRC which doesn't list that...

From everything I've read so far I think you're right. Just the electrical part is all I need to worry about. I'm comfortable with that stuff.

I only know a little. They do engineer the cables with a bow in them so after the cement cures and they tension the cables they help support the weight of the house. There's supposed to be less settling as a result. I think it simplifies prep too because of this. Less compaction and backfill...
