    Another floor jack question....

I recently inherited a floor jack that was my grandfathers. It worked for a bit before it decided to bleed out the hydraulic fluid all over my garage floor. The jack is solid and appears to be well made, but has no distinguishing markings or stampings on it. In any case, I think it is worthy...

    Rock Solid Flooring

KY - Would you mind sharing the directions for touching up the spots where you missed the clear?

    RockSolid floor project

If that was the case, then it was curing in the bag as it was this way from the minute I opened them. Overall, it came out just fine with the exception of a few thick areas that I just couldn't roll out. I'll snap a few photos and post the results.

    RockSolid floor project

Wow. I must have gotten a "special" batch because this stuff was the consistency of roofing tar

    RockSolid floor project

To the rest of the guys who were part of the "Rock Solid 10".... What was the consistency of your base coat? Mine was extremely viscous - almost to the point that it was impossible to roll out if you poured too much out of the bag (I ended up drizzling thin strings on the floor to combat...

My 2 year experience with a polyaspartic floor

No way to tell without chiseling it up.... Good idea. Cleaning is the hardest part of the process. One other thing to keep in mind.... while the base coat doesn't have much smell to it, the clear is pretty pungent.

My 2 year experience with a polyaspartic floor

FWIW I have recently coated 1/2 my garage (last 1/2 this weekend) with the Rock Solid single component product with light chips and their clear coat. I had to swap a track system from one my company's Yamaha Rhinos to another last weekend. Using a steel wheeled floor jack to lift the Rhinos...

FREE!!!!! RockSolid Floors Polyurea Gray Kit's

I'll be starting the first 1/2 of my garage this weekend. Did either of you guys order the clear coat as well. I opted for the extra $ for it and was curious if any else did as well.

My 2 year experience with a polyaspartic floor

I am one of the "Rock Solid 10" that were selected for their DIY single component polyurea kit test. The contents of the first box came damaged by UPS. Rock Solid promptly sent out a replacement box, but in the meantime I was able to salvage a few cups of the base coat product from one of the...

    Residential geothermal ???

I would have to go with a closed (horizontal) loop system simply because the digging is so easy at my place. I suspect a day with a 8-10' ditch witch would be sufficient. Also, with respect to an open loop system, I have super corrosive salt water (all wells in the area are the same way) and I...

    Residential geothermal ???

I have a 2,500 sq. ft. house with a 1,200 s.f. garage situated on 23 acres in southern Maine. The house is 5 years old and is heated by forced hot water (Viessmann oil fired burner). The garage has radiant heat in the slab. I have been curious about geothermal for awhile now and with heating...

Whats that (epoxy?) stuff for filling floor joints/cracks?

When my floor was poured, the contractor put 1/4" wide by 4" thick dense foam strips into the concrete (before the pour) as control joints, The tops of these strips were sunk about 1/4" - 1/2" or so below the surface. Over the past 5 years, small (1/16") cracks have opened up along these...

    Rigid Generators

Sorry - it is the 6800W Rigid. As with many cheap generators, it isn't the motor that would worry me, it would be the generation unit. Many of the cheaper units skimp on the construction using plastic bushings instead of bearings in some instances, cheap brushes, etc. These sorts of things...

    Rigid Generators

My house has a transfer panel and exterior feed to keep the lights on during power outages. I need at least 5000 watts to keep most of the house running. Honda or Yamaha generators of this size are out of the budget. Home Depot has a 6000 watt Rigid for around $900 that looks fairly decent on...
