    Metal Cabinets on Concrete Wall

Just remember that its not just the moisture that comes through the concrete that you need to contend with. Its also the moisture that's inherent to your air, and your cabinet materials temperature relative to the dewpoint. Just like window condensation. That moisture didn't come through the...

    Metal Cabinets on Concrete Wall

I'm sure that in this day and age there are fasteners designed that might help set a sufficient air gap, but if I were investing in some nice metal cabinets (or even some used ones from the Restore), I'd probably look at backing them up with some plywood against the concrete. To me its no...

    School me on air-hose

I really like my Goodyear hose. No memory, works well in all temperature conditions. I also have a retractable hose reel that also has a black rubber hose, may be Goodyear, don't recall. Works GREAT! HOWEVER, one drawback to the durable black rubber hoses is that they can mar painter...

    Miter saw stand

I and another friend (Rick S here on GJ) both have the previous generation Rigid SUV stand, with a table like top to bolt the saw to. Absolutely the best stand I've ever seen/used. Big wheels so it is loveable over any ground, folds VERY easily, is compact when vertical, expansive when needed...

How do you seal garage door bottom to gravel floor?

I agree that a simple solution would be a treated 6x6 buried, drilling down and driving some rebar stakes down at least 16" or more, if possible. It will help hold it in place after constant driving/hitting it, and isn't permanent if it need to be adjusted. Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk

A Humble but Long Anticipated 24X24 Detached

Great day to be in the garage! Using our long string of 65-80 degree days to get some work done outside. Painted the trim and door, hauled in a load of top soil (much more to come), and generally pick up around the yard. Here are some updated pics... The size can always be bigger, but for a...

A Humble but Long Anticipated 24X24 Detached

Quick update; I will sit down at some point to upload some better pics and descriptions, but there's where I currently sit! All siding work is complete, the soffit is up on all sides but the front peak (ran short due to decision to run 24" overhangs on the gable ends, versus the originally...

A Humble but Long Anticipated 24X24 Detached

Its a good time of the year to have a closed up building! Here's the status report...the overhead door is in, conduit and electrical is in the trench and covered, and the eave corners are boxed in (not shown). We also got chalklines struck for the F channel, so that is ready to go. Spent...

A Humble but Long Anticipated 24X24 Detached

The weekend is upon me. Tonight has been lost to normal house work (laundry, etc) and some shopping for materials, but as a result I do think I came up with a good idea for my workbench- more on that later! The OH door wasn't installed last weekend, but I am hoping to tackle it tomorrow. Will...
