I can't provide a lot of help, but one thing regarding light switches that I have made a point to include in our upcoming build is to have bedside lighting/fan controls in the master bedroom. Just a thought.
Yes please do. We are considering different GC's as we speak, while also toying with the idea of self-contracting. The GC's I've spoke to seem split on it. No one has a bad thing to say about Zip Sheathing other than it's heavier to handle, but they all say it's great stuff. Just have different...
Have you had an opportunity yet to really test out the Infratech heaters yet? I'd like to get your thoughts on their performance because we are also looking to incorporate heaters into our covered patio.
Got it. Thanks... I knew I was missing something because on a build with this level of detail, there was zero chance of a 20' variance in light locations.
Closely following your driveway light project. My wife and I are in the planning stage of a build at the top of a hill with a 1,000' "tree-tunnel" driveway similar to yours. It will also be gated, paved, and illuminated. We don't intend to go multi-color or multi-directional with it, but I do...
Nice build. Keep posting progress pics. My wife and I are in the process of modifying plans for our first home build so I'll be following along to see how yours progresses.
Looks great. What model is that Mahindra?
Also, I'd have to pin up those power cords for the lighting. Seems inevitable that something would hook around one at some point. 2x4, rake, anything.
Final Update:
The person that we sold this farm to is wasting no time getting ready to build. It is a personal friend of mine so I swung by today and they already have the footer laid out. Ready to start digging this week. We just closed on it last Friday so like I said, wasting no time...
Apologies for letting this thread die. Big moves happening with this farm, but not in a way that will appeal to my fellow Garage Journal-ers. We are actually in the process of selling this farm.
We knew when we bought this place that we got in at a good price, but didn't realize at the time...
Lot of work has been taking place on the farm. It's been frustrating how long this cleanup phase has been spread out, but things are starting to take shape. I didn't get many good pictures so I'll go back to get some angles for before/after pics, but here's how things looks after a busy weekend...
Thanks Boosted. Overwhelming a bit at times but I keep telling myself if we chip away little by little we will eventually get there.
One thing I forgot to mention is that now that the house is finally gone I can get my temp power service pole put up and FINALLY get power to the shop. If you can...
