Friend Died Unexpectedly Now Family Left w/Nightmare Tools

One of our family members went through this recently with her mom. House and several acres, 2 sheds full of stuff, 2 tractors and 3 vehicles plus some farm machinery, all willed to the 2 kids and they felt a heavy burden with all the junk. A few phone calls to estate auction companies and they...

Mini-Split vs Gas or Electric Heat in Detached Garage - Detroit Area

I would put a mini split in and buy a $300 salamander heater. When you want to warm the place up run the salamander heater for 20 or 30 minutes and shut it off and be comfortable the rest of the time you’re working in your shop.

    Impact wrench questions.

I’ve seen more stuff tore up with big impacts from greenhorns not knowing how to use them. They are great for taking stuff apart but you need experience with them to put stuff back together and get it right. Most of us have walked before we ran and these guys starting out are using the big...

Question on a concrete slab (already poured)

Get a harness and let him drag around a tire!!! lol. Dogs are smarter than people give them credit for. A good stern deep voice and if that doesn’t get it a slap with a leash on the head is all that’s needed most times but there are hard heads out there.

    Cottonwood Lumber... Good for What?

Most of the old barns that had the hay lofts around here had big wide cottonwood and sycamore boards on the floors. They used oak on the outsides.

    Forklift Opinions?

I would steer clear of Hyster they are the biggest POS out there. We run them because we have to but for 15 towmotors we have 1 full time rolling stock mechanic and have to come the equipment company mechanic in a couple times a month. We have on average 3 go down every week from leaks and they...

Help Choosing A Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector.

I use the ones Menards sells that are rated for 10 years. I like to have multiples. I would think first alert would be good as gold.

How do you carry your Knipex XS pliers?

I carry the cobra’s at work in my front pocket. I use them daily in a manufacturing environment, they took the place of channel lock model 420. I wouldn’t mind getting a belt sheath for them.
