I made this guy to help with my engine swaps. The Greenlee L97 has a laser built in and is intended for pipe work.
Bolted to the transmission output flange I can move the motor around until I get it situated where I want it and then make the engine and transmission mounts with out guessing.
My dad is retired and probably spends too much time doing that. Mostly for smaller stuff, he's built up quite a collection of early 20th century wood planes:lol:.

Thanks for the info:). The stand was half the reason I was interested so I may still take a look. I already have a 6" united and a 3.5" US made one, can't recall the brand. I'm definitely trying to avoid the import junk vises. My 3.5" has been in the family for decades and is what I grew up...
I'm going to check this out on craigslist later today. The guy doesn't know anything about it and says "the name plate was gone when I got it". He did say it has a "T" and "V" stamped on it, but doesn't have any better pics. Any ideas on who make it or an estimate on what it's worth? I'm not...
I ended up getting the Makita bandfile and electric die grinder, haven't had a chance to use either yet though. Amazon was running a $25 off special $100+ makita tool order, with free shipping the tools came to $190 for the die grinder and $225 for the bandfile.

I've currently have both, but made by HF. They've been super handy and now that I have a bit of money to spend on tools I'm set on buying nicer ones. I can't seem to find any reviews outside of Amazon's comment section and was hoping some members on here might have some experience with them...
