You're probably thinking of standard ±.0001 mics used by 'merica. ±.002 is common for metric micrometers. Not a bad deal for a Starrett although I would rather hunt CL or ebay for a used Mitutoyo (the non Brazilian ones). edit - I get it, inch denomination... *facepalm*
