Brooklyn Warehouse - to - Carriage House / Dream Garage

Six years and hundreds of 15 minute commutes later, the finished product looks awesome  When your street is full of cars on any given " Off to the track day " how tough of a job is it to get your tow rig and loaded trailer out ? Or did you have to invest in a few "No Park signs" :)

    D.TRECE - Garage + House

Re: D.TRECE - 62x36 - My first garage + house I am not an expert on Brick laying but it looks as if these guys are just slopping the mortar on thick. Are they using recycled bricks ?

remodeling 2 floor 50 car garage with tons of Games

If money were no object you could always theme out a room or partition one room per an age group, starting with what ever age fits the bill for little babies to eloquent seating for the board room elite types. So when everyone comes over you wouldn't have to worry about spilling drinks on $5000...

    110' x 26' Forclosure

Awesome building for the price. The DryVit outsulation is a nice way to spruce up old structures like this. Back in the Late 80's I worked for the West coast distributor for DryVit in Seattle, back then it was Seattle Wall Systems. I delivered allot of custom shapes and building materials for...

Outstanding efficiency in the flow of the work performed. The crews that are doing your place, are they the same crews that you would use normally for your other restorations ? I can only imagine the anticipation of being able to move into the place after you finally get it done. My wife and I...

Show us your cool, "old" drill press

My brother just picked up an old old drill press that looks as if you mount it to a 6"to 8" pole and runs off one of the old 1 cylinder motors from the 1920's. Anyone know what company made/makes such an item ? Thank you

    Workshop 88

Nice shop that you have going on here. I too bought my first house and still live here, but it was also built in the 1940's with about the same size garage, mine is 12x18. It's funny that all the cars in the 40's are BIG and the garages they build for them are so dinky. It led up to me building...

    Our 22 X 30 "Scout" Den

Outstanding job on the garage and the things you have added to make it so much more functional. I hope one of these days I am able to do something similar in my own garage. I have a ways to go as funding is very limited. Thank you for sharing all the cool ideas. I love the Scout to, reminds me...

In this GJ thread the owner talks about special materials used for pours like yours and how fast they need to be extricated after the pour. http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=145073

    Buying T8 or T5........

Is there such a thing as to bright though ? If you are working it would be good to see a pin drop on the floor. If you are staring into the lights, that could be to bright, or not to bright depending on why.

Here are a couple shots of a building close by me taken a few days ago of what the outside looks after a while after whitewashing. Looks good.

Brooklyn Warehouse - to - Carriage House / Dream Garage

The Whitewash would look pretty good if you were to add something like a 4" window rap around each window in a darker color, like your photo shop windows. Paint the Green Cornice the same color as the wrapped windows, add your awnings over the doors would spice it up some also. It would give it...

Brooklyn Warehouse - to - Carriage House / Dream Garage

I was curious to know what you might expect to have into the total cost to do something of this magnitude. Would it be cheaper to just tear it down and start anew ? You had mentioned a "crack" in the footing and considering the age of the building, with all the improvements and weight that you...
