Thank you. A great looking catalogue by the look of it. Love the grinder page at the bottom especially. Still some of these around in every day use!

Workbench - Buying better that building!

Thanks for the comments and complements on the vise. I like the butcher block myself and would hope to have a wooden top workbench some day for the 'cleaner' stuff but it will not be any time soon. You made me smile with the comment about the Railroad ties/sleepers - just the way things are...

Workbench - Buying better that building!

Thanks, Yes the T slot table is definitely from a radial arm drill. I said above that it would be hard do get another one and at the same time I have seen one sitting outside just waiting for someone to pick it up! The table may even be a little bigger than mine. Workbench - Buying better that building!

Thanks for the comment. I have to agree. The first big one is the one that will see most use. This one however is going to be hard to beat as far as being a good score is concerned. It is impossible to make one and the chances of stumbling upon another are quite small. I hope to make a stand for...

That's a nice looking old drill. Obviously well cared for. This old stuff is nice to look at, and as you say not the best to use but for occasional use I find them OK - I have a few modern tools too - my battery powered drill has been great but I doubt if it will still be going in 50 years!

Sorry to hear about the crime rate - not what I would have expected. The 2018 show was probably my last - it was so big it was total chaos - a bit of a pity really!

Thanks for the comment. I see you are based in Dorset - I got the metal box at the Great Dorset Steam Fair in 2018. I hope to upload some more of these old Wolf tools before the lock down ends!

Made in England Wolf Power Tools

I haven't updated this thread recently although I have been updating my old Wolf 'Made in England' collection. The latest is the 'Grinderette kit' I still use this for grinding small items - it isn't used for cutting. Grinderette kit (Wolf) by K Garrett, on Flickr This tool is probably from...

    Tools from the old world

Are there many old tools around with W-Germany on them? Every time I see them they remind me of growing up in the cold war 80s! W Germany tools by K Garrett, on Flickr

    Tools from the old world

There's nothing like a nice piece of hickory! This 'lump hammer' - was made in England in 1983 according to the stamp. Purchased from a Ministry of Defense dealer - unfortunately I didn't take a photo of it before I started using it. It had never been used! Whitehouse lump hammer by K Garrett...
