Have a Charles Parker No. 436 vise, PAT. 1930. Purchased it from a gentleman in Vermont several years ago. Does anyone on this great site know where pipe jaws & mounting pins for this vise can be obtained? Would like to attach a couple images of this vise, but cannot see how this is done...
Hi Schiff,
Have not been on this forum for some time. Beautiful vise. Have the same model and it was purchased from a gentleman in Vermont. The cast model number designation is not as clear to read as yours, though. Thought mine read No 486 with a PAT. 1930. Nice to be corrected. Mine...
Hi JoeFin,
Will definitely make note of your offer. What is a proper steel designation to use for this application? Do you have the dimensions of the actual pipe jaws made, or should I research this?
You're more of a Charles Parker expert than I. Didn't know it was missing pipe jaws. Am new to vises & am going by images presented only. Am learning a lot on this forum. Got back to the previous owner, who said it did indeed have them originally, before he owned it.
Just purchased & am waiting on delivery of a Charles Parker vise that I believe is the same model as yours, a #436. Looks to be the same model vise. Seller stated it weighs around 220 pounds. It does not have the pipe jaws, but did originally. Paid $400.00 for it.
See the images on this...
OK, thanks for the information. Previous owner said color was black or a dark maroon purple & that he believed it was manufactured in late 30's or in the 40's.
Know any way to confirm period of manufacture?
Thanks for your reply.
Thank you.
Still waiting for it to be delivered from Vermont.
The vise is a big boy; 6" jaws, 12" opening, weighs 220 pounds.
