    Bean wheel balancer

Yep, I've gotta really want something to bother with a reserve auction... but I'm not really the normal eBay bidder: if I want something, my only bid goes in at the last minute - I bid what I'm willing to pay, and I either get it, or I don't. It kills that stupid competitive impulse to bid again.

Best Light Duty 1/2 Ton Truck?

Yeesh, I'm glad those aren't the only choices!

    How's your assfault?

I hate to do it, but no one else has, so I feel obligated... Maybe I need that: mine has this big crack in it!

Best Light Duty 1/2 Ton Truck?

I'm glad somebody said it. Seriously, every "1/2 ton" on the market is rated to carry 3/4 of a ton, including the current Tacoma. Call it whatever you like, but from where I'm standing it looks and walks like a duck, and I distinctly heard a "quack" sound... Personally, I'm tired of language...

Harbor Freight Aluminum Pipe Wrench made in USA?

The bigger items are all over Craigslist around here... "Like new" usually for a few bucks under the "sale price", not counting the 20% coupon. It's gotten so I routinely exclude the words "Central Machine" and the like from my searches.

Buy USA/Europe vs. Asian COO especially China?

I don't have any love affair with HF, but I do shop there. Here's why: I'm not a professional mechanic, so I don't have tool trucks pulling up in my parking lot (and running a tab to boot), so my options for American made tools are limited. In the good old days, I bought Craftsman: they...

    You all will hate me.

I wouldn't be surprised if she meant the part about being happy to see someone use it more than the "junk" part. I've got more than one screaming deal from some older folks who are only selling it because they can't see giving it to some grandkid who won't value it.

Harbor Freight Aluminum Pipe Wrench made in USA?

I noticed this thread and had to look at them when I was in yesterday. I had to laugh when I realized what was going on... USA STD.

how do you guys see drill bits for at work??

I was thinking along these lines as well. For repair work, I can see buying them just like the rest of your tools, but for production? "Sorry boss, money is a little tight this month, but I should be able to drill those holes next month... unless you'd like to go buy me some drill bits!"

    Any motor experts here?

It is rated for vertical. The three speed thing is an experiment: if it works, wonderful, but unnecessary. I don't intend to try to do any tapping with it - I do so little that hand tapping works just fine for me - so the reverse switch will be mostly just for things like left-hand bits. It...

    Any motor experts here?

Thanks for the positive thoughts. I've managed to track down everything I need, including a fan that is better suited than the one I had. I had hit a wall with my Google hunting when I posted here, but sometimes an extra day and a clear head brings results. I had definitely been planning on...

    Any motor experts here?

I may have passed over a threshold with "teh interweb" where I just have no more patience... it may be time to quit posting of forums! Anyway, to address the actual well reasoned questions/objections... I realize this will be more difficult than just buying a copy of the original motor. My...

    Any motor experts here?

Oh my yes, I can certainly see that it would be impossible to mount an electrical box, perhaps joined to the motor by flexible conduit... what a cluster eff... To those of you with helpful input, thank you. You'll have to pardon my irritation, it seems like pulling teeth to get helpful input...

    Any motor experts here?

Yes, it is a motor designed for fan duty, but I do know that they make mounts for this style of motor: it is called a resilient base mount, I just don't know where to get them or how they are sized. The fan is a long shot, but building a shroud to mount the external fan is hardly a difficult...
