Thanks for the input.
I like the idea of making the loft the "man Cave". Would not need to be nearly as strong and would be a fun escape. The only problem would be the heat, it gets hot the higher you go eventhough I am insulating.
BTW: Corvettes and 356 replica are gone. Vettes belong to a...
I'd suggest using epoxy in the hole with the RedHead Studs. Mine slipped up a little when torquing the nuts to spec.
Also use water to keep the bit cool. It's a little messy but also keeps the dust down. Blow out the hole to remove debris and dry it out before driving in the studs.
Have fun
I can't afford to play that game. :D
The original conversation started with my wife wanting a door that cost twice as much as what she's thinking now. I was able to stall long enough that she's changed her mind. That, or I'm about to walk into something I can't get out of. ;)
Turns out the insulation is only a $200 up charge. Sounds like a no brainer.
We took a drive thru the neighborhood last night and my wife has found the doors she wants. The local installers are coming to give us a formal quote and to show the color options.
What about openers????? I was told I...
Thanks for the input.
Yes, I am being compensated but I am getting tired of it taking up space mainly because I keep buying cars and things are filling up. I have made hints to the owner that she may want to find other arangements. The car is a 1970 Camaro so it's not light.
It's a really good...
Now this is an idea..... I like it but I'd still have a post in the middle of my shop.
Got any pics of your friends lot?
I thought of this too but if I have a 4 post I don't "need" the loft. :D
I first was thinking of a folding ramp but it would have to be so strong that it would be to big...
I was talking with a friend over a couple beers and the thought came up to put a loft in for car storage.
Anyone ever seen or done this?
How could the car be put up there? (I've got a 2 post lift directly in front of where I'm thinking the loft would be so it could be used.
The plan would be to...
I'm not sure how often it's run to the top but I have seen that done and it does level them. Maybe it's not being done enough.
It's level now though.... I took this 5 min ago.
I've run copper throughout my shop with quick connects every 10' and three drops from the ceiling. I have the "T" facing up to avoid as much moisture as I can. Also have several "T's" with drains going down to capture condensation.
