Straighten a light weight trailer axle?

I've seen heating successfully accomplished on axle housings. Here is a website that provides some info, as well as a YouTube video showing it done on a smaller scale (although it works well on long shafts all the same): http://www.repairengineering.com/shaft-straightening.html Sent from...

    Hello from Tempe Arizona

Hi from Peoria, AZ. Sounds like a dream job! I built a shop right around the time I had my first daughter two years ago, and haven't spent much time in it since. Kids definitely take up a good bit of time. Glad to hear you speaking up on the board. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Need help with Husky 60 gal air compressor

I don't have any experience with that compressor, but I'd check the switch with a multimeter first. With the compressor unplugged, check for continuity between the terminals of the switch in both the on and off position. You can attempt to read resistance, or use the continuity tester that is on...

    Camouflage paint - suggestions?

Lots of the Jeep guys reccomend the Gillespie paint. I think it's an enamel that can be purchased in rattle can form. It's a bit more expensive but apparently goes on with less streaking and is more durable. https://www.armyjeepparts.net/c-211-gci-paint.aspx -Matt

    The Stable

I am definitely still into hotrods. In my first pic you can see a picture of one of my project vehicles. It is my grandfathers 1949 F1. That's one of the top priorities(along with everything else) once the shop goes up. It will have a flathead ford under the hood, with either a satin red or...

    The Stable

Concrete was complete yesterday. Today the focus was framing, the framers were on site at 6 am and by 8am the building was complete to the first framing picture. The last picture is where they finished for the day at about 3:30 to include time spend putting away all their tools and cleaning up...

    The Stable

Since graduating high school I have known that I "needed" a shop. My grandfather built his just before passing and never really got to enjoy it. I vowed not to do the same. I worked in a Hot Rod shop through college, and knew my I could be happen in life until I had my own place to build...

    Fear The Yoder!

Mind=Blown I've got to stop coming to this site to see things that as many others have stated, I have no real use for, but must have now.

Sherwin Williams Tile Clad Double Coat Garage Floor

I noticed you have being recommended by a friend, but for most of us the most obvious answer would be "Recommended by Garage Journal members."

    Industrial Workbench

As Charles mentioned these are common industrial modular benches that can be purchased new. We have over 100 in my facility with maple or steel tops. Additionally, the steel top ones are modular. You can combine two or more together by removing one set of legs between the tables, shift the...

    Project: DIY Drill Press Stand

I've had bad luck with the HF clamps too. I've broken all I've ever purchased and just stopped getting them.

    Power Tool Choice for Job?

I'm not sure what county you're in, but if it's Maricopa it's illegal to alter a pool fence without a permit. I believe this is due to the large number of child drownings associated with un-fenced pools in the valley. See below from the zoning rules: ARTICLE 1504.5. ZONING...

    Power Tool Choice for Job?

Is this welded fence? Once you cut free the fence section between the two posts, it seems like the whole section would like come free from the concrete easily as there is little holding it in place. Maybe I'm missing what you are trying to do though?

Garage Builder/Contractor Referral in Phoenix, AZ

I'm looking to build an RV style garage. I want a single door, 24 x 48, large enough to accommodate a big class A Motor home. I don't have a motor home but these types of garages are common in my neighborhood and help with resale. It has to be Spanish style to match the house. I've included a...
