Just a question. What is in the enclosed space in the corner? A bathroom?

Need some help with explanation with wife...

As far as sizing goes I use one of two methods: 1) the Ford, Chevy, Cadillac method, if there is a Ford in the driveway I size a 1-1/2 ton system, a Chevy gets a 2 ton system and a Cadillac gets a 3 ton system. 2) the finger method, I stand across the street and hold my hand about 6" in front...

    how much compressor...

1.5-2HP should be plenty for an impact wrench. It has a low duty cycle. Most mechanics tools have a similar low duty cycle. If your doing body work that's another story. My neighbor's son once strolled by my garage and saw my 2HP compressor and thought it was huge so I grabbed my photo album...

    Piping Air

3/4 should do fine for a 5 HP compressor unless you have a short high demand load. Use a minimum of 3/8 hose on the reels if you want to run any decent impact wrench. Put drain legs in wherever you drop from the main line.

    throw-away society

I have a Eureka D4870. It was a consumers reports best buy and I agree. It is about 4 years old now and shows no signs of quitting. You need to take care of things and be gentle using them in general nowadays. They aren't built like tanks anymore. My folks have a sanitaire that they bought...

    Nice garage

I am fascinated by some of the awesome garages on this site. May I ask what you do for a living? I want my three small kids (11,9,7) to go into the same field. Nothing specific just in general.

    auxillary air tank-

It has been entertaining listening to you all bicker. May I interject? When adding an additional air tank be sure to double and triple check that all connections are leak free or else you are defeating the purpose. The factories go to great lengths to ensure no leakage. Leakage costs $

    1/2" or 7/8" PEX tubing????

To add to Chris J's reply you do not want a convential water heater or boiler to get to the point where the water vapor in the flue gases condenses. That will kill the heater. I recommend a condensing boiler for slabs because the discharge temp can be run down to 100F without harm. 140F water...

Help w/ Wayne air compressor specs?

I have a reply to your inquiry about the Wayne compressor. Firstly, they are among the very best compressors made in their catagory, they are comparable to Ingersoll-Rand, Quincy, and Kellogg. Now the bad news. They have not been made since the mid 1950's. They use Kellogg valve components...

Help w/ Wayne air compressor specs?

My father and brother have worked in the air compressor business for eons. I will check with them if you will be patient with me. Wayne has been out of business for decades. They were a pretty good unit just a victim of industry consolidation. You can expect 3-4 cfm/HP on any good two stage...

Where to mount 2 Heat/AC units

Shade is always better for AC. If esthetics aren't compromised put on the north wall.

What a hoot! What some guys will do to make work. I could do three installs in three days and still have time to run plenty of personal errands.

    My Texaco Garage

I'm betting it used to be a lumberyard. The storage area photo gives it away.
