    Snap On Vantage Ultra

If youve got the cash, start searching CL and Ebay, you should be able to find a VantagePro with reasonably new update(at least 10.4) and an amp probe or even additional accessories for right around $1000. Nothing "better" than the Ultra is likely to come out any time soon.

Yes you get a 6month askatech code with any update or platform purchase. I dont think the codes expire.....so run through your current one and then just punch in the one from your update later.

    Looking to buy scanner

Yeah, I bought my Modis Ultra when the Diagknow guy was coming around too, got the MU, all the OBD1 adapters, Euro, the soft carry case, and the amp probe for $6k. very happy with it so far.

    Looking to buy scanner

What couldnt it do that you needed it to do? Was it a ModisUltra scope specific issue or a 2channel scope general issue? Verus scope uses the same software, has same functionality....just has two more channels and the amp/ignition features built in. If one needed to do something like scope...

    Looking to buy scanner

I cant recommend any full feature OTC scan tool or scope. The MODIS Ultra is a great tool, especially if you arent replacing any specific combination of scope/scan tools that youve grown accustomed to. I love my Ultra. The integrated information in the Modis is second to none.(the Verus and...

    Need a new diagnostic tool

I second the notion of picking up a second hand MODIS. excellent scan tool and a quality 4ch scope, with component specific testing, and easier to use than the OTC. I loath the Genysis  If its free to use, thats fine. I would never purchase it over the MODIS

    New Snap-On Modis Ultra

There are definite advantages to having seperate scanner and scope, I just the thought advantages of the Modis, outweighed the advantages of separate scope and scan for me.

    New Snap-On Modis Ultra

I just picked up a Modis Ultra with Euro, all the OBD1 adapters, carry case, and low amp probe for $6000 total w/tax. I didn't currently own any scan tools except for a code reader and GM Tech2 & MDI. As for scope functionality or its lacking features I am replacing a 15 yr old Fluke 98, so off...

    Snap On Vantage Ultra

I traded the Vantage in for Modis Ultra. The diagnostic tool truck guy gave me a deal I couldn't pass on...Modis with Euro, all the obd1 adapters, low amp probe, and the carrying case for $6000 w/tax. If I ever NEED a 4 channel scope the PICO is now a required GM dealership tool, I'll just need...

Uber overkill tools for the job...

I use my CT8810 absolutely eveywhere I can fit it... underhood, under vehicle, underdash...I dont care, if it fits it gets used. So much faster than most other options.

    Snap On Vantage Ultra

I just picked up the Vantage Ultra last night. After rebates and promo it was $2095, which made it hard to pass up. I doesnt have graphing ohms capability which seems a little odd, but I I havent used a graphing ohms readout (save for bar graphs on my Tektronics DVOM  ) in the best part of...

What are/(were) your most USELESS tools?

Noid/test lights are quicker to use, and do something invaluable at a glance that a meter doesnt.....show if the circuits are capable of carrying load. Just because theres B+ and ground at the terminals doesnt mean the circuit will work under load. ;)
