I cleaned the end of the thermocouple per the manual, re-lit the pilot and it seems to be working okay now. I shut it down after about an hour and then brought it back up. No issue. Thanks for they conversation!
Does have a thermocouple according to the manual I found and printed. I also found another thread on here where someone had the same problem. Fan blows but pilot/burner won't light. Seems there is a reset button on the top of the unit that should clear the problem. I'm going to give that a...
I have a Modine in a room adjacent to my garage that has done something new on me. I went out this morning to turn up the thermostat since it finally got down below freezing last night. I found the pilot light out and the fan running. I’ve cut the power to the unit and the fan continues to...
I did this to my garage floor in the house we just bought in September. I haven't had any trouble finding dropped items but I can see how that could be a problem depending on what you're working with. I also only used the flakes that came with the kit plus one additional purchased bag...
I think after I improve the insulation in the garage I'm going to try extending the duct and adding some vents. If that doesn't work, I might try a woodstove after all. My FIL has one in his two car-detached pole building and it's the warmest place at the farm all winter.
Thanks y'all!
Tried that. The distance between the duct in the room and the accordion door is about 12 feet or so. Too much for one vent? I need to insulate and square up some doors, but it still feels like an awfully big area for just one output.
Let me clarify, I didn't do a very good job of explaining.
The living space in this case is an extension of the garage itself with just an accordion style separator between it and the garage. Simply put, I can push this open and the garage and the room become the same space. What I...
Hey all! Great forum, first time posting.
My wife and I recently moved into a new home built in the 50s. The previous owner was a residential builder and did a lot of DIYing to the home, it's in great shape and very solid. One added bonus for me is that I once again have a garage to use as...
