Age of this Craftsman circular saw?

Bronson, tell us about the Honda CT-70 in the background of your pictures. 3 speed? 4 speed? Had one like it as a youngster....sure wish I had it back.

Need a new corded drill for mixing:

It may be a little over $100...but a Milwaulkee Magnum Hole Shooter 1/2" Drill is the only drill I will buy. Indestructable.....and capable of breaking your wrist if you dont respect it.

    tyvek for ceiling?

I used tyvek for my shop ceiling (36X52) back in 2000, worked great....really brightens up the shop, and FAR cheaper than sheetrock or suspended ceiling. I just stapled mine about every 8" along each truss (2ft spacing), and so far no problems with drooping or tearing around the staples. Be...

Need help with designing a good looking workbench

Not sure how much $$ you want to spend...but butcher-block makes a really sharp (and durable) workbench top. Lumber Liquidators has them 12 feet long by 25" deep. I poly'd mine several times and painted the supporting lumber frame dark gray...looks pretty good when done. I think I paid a little...

    Parts washer question

NSXTACY, I learned my lesson about water based cleaning solutions....they will destroy your parts washer eventually. I bought a nice 20 gal parts washer from Clark equipment, filled it with cleaner/water as directed, and it corroded the pan and pump to the point I threw them away in about a...

Your preference for residential roll up doors?

Merkava, check out the Amarr garage door line. I've owned Amarr, Overhead Door, and a few other smaller name brands..... I'll always go Amarr. Not sure what type door you are looking for but they make a "Weatherbeater" door with full metal on both sides and injected insulation. Very nice door...

I know this place is all about garages BUT???

Sharpshooter, get some quotes on having someone do it for you. Call a local high-end builder and ask who he would recommend. After having my floors finished I couldn't believe they would do that much work for so little $. Noo way I would have rented the equipment, and put that much labor into...

    Best garage door?

John, check out the Amarr Door company's "Weathermaster" door. Steel on both sides, R value on the 1 3/8 standard door is around 11. Excellent door for the money....far better quality than the standard big chain stores. I looked into the 2" commercial insulated doors... R value was around 15...

Pet Door without cutting garage door?

I'm wanting to build a removable panel to install across my 9' garage door opening to allow installation of a dog door (big dog). I don't want to cut a hole in my garage door. Idea being this panel would rest on the floor and the garage door would be lowered down on on top of it to hold it in...
