my driveway is 12” pit run, 6” 3/4 mix, and 4” of recycles asphalt. It does okay but can still get stuck if I’m not careful.we use two layers of plywood (3/4” minimum) at work if we have to move forklifts and its someehat effective.

Having a forklift is a game changer. I’ve gotten mine stuck on the gravel drive more than once. As soon as they start to rock side to side its game over. like the way you stacked the sleds. I did that in my shop as well!

heat doesn‘t rise it transfers to colder areas. in air the hotter air becomes less dense so the hotter air itself rises - which is why we have a common misconception that heat rises. I think your idea will work but it seems very, very inefficient. If I was building an off grid hot tub id use...
