Bodywork tools. I was looking for something else...

No shipping costs, apart from my fuel and coffee to go. It was on a Dutch national website and since our country is not too big. Well, small actually when compared to the US. So, only a drive up and down to Eindhoven and back. 2x 80mins. Do any of you have suggestions on how to store this...

Bodywork tools. I was looking for something else...

I was looking for a new MIG/MAG welder (and an anvil btw) on a Dutch marketplace website. Then I stumbled across this set of tools. Without an asking price. I sent the seller a PM via the website and a €50 banknote in was enough to buy everything in the picture. One buy, one banknote.

Bought my first welder; The journey begins (learning to weld).

I was directed towards this thread by a fellow forumite. I'm also about to 'skate away on the thin ice of a new day'. I was given an obsolete welder. Nothing fancy and a European brand. I've never welded before and I have enlisted in a 1 day welding class, especially for automotive sheet metal...

New Item No Prep Complete Ballisitx 2-Layer Kits 63 Cents/Sq Foot

My good friend and fellow forumite Don pointed me towards this thread. And I've read all postings. We had a 50 y/old, 600 sq/ft chicken coop on our grounds. Asbestos roof, rotten timber. You can imagine how it looked. We decided to give it a new lease of life as a cottage with electric...

    Wood burner installation in Europe

Forum member 4xdog and I are often exchanging all sorts of info. One of the things I shared with him, was the installation of a new wood burner in my wife's home office. A less-than-a-day job for a pro. The wood burner itself is from the Belgian company Dovre. A lot of wood burners sold here are...

I rented a mini excavator this weekend!

No, and I wouldn't. Like using a chainsaw, I'm very careful when it comes to using machines I don't 'know'.

I rented a mini excavator this weekend!

I always fancied one but living in an area where a lot of neighbours have one 'on site', makes it easier to ask a neighbour to help me. One of them came to help for (in total 1.5 day) earlier this Spring: digging up a part of a lawn for a new gravel path, flattening 500m2/5300 sq ft for a new...

What is it? See pics; Maybe for Watchmaking or ?

My good friend Don, a member here, emailed me a 'heads-up' pointing to this thread. I'm a member of TZ-UK a watch forum in (obviously) the UK and I've asked for the input of the members there. Let's see what happens

Anyone with US-based experience and the RAL paint color system?

Fine paints of Europe is from Dutch manufacturer Ralston. Or, here in Holland, better known as Van Wijhe. I used to live a NE town called Zwolle, home of Van Wijhe's Paint. A fine product. The first house that I bought was painted with Ralston/Van Wijhe. But there's always a better option...

    Milwaukee Hatchet

According to the course leader, 80 - 85% of all accidents happen as a result of bad maintenance. Sadly, numbers are up: an electric or battery-powered chain saw tends to lull users into a situation of: "...it's not that bad/scary!" Where 2stroke howling machines tend to keep people on their...

    Milwaukee Hatchet

This one looks a lot safer than the ones I see offered on the internet: this one has two handles. I attended the Course 'How to use a chainsaw' last week. I was the only non-professional at a professional course: firefighters, health & safety officers of a large roadbuilding company, a...

    New electrics and more! Chuffed!

A while back, I posted about our new home + workshop. https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=468657 Here's an update. Originally in use a horse barn, it was clear that I needed to remove all dirt and grime before getting anything done in my workshop-to-be. I must have removed...

Finally moved. My new garage - first thoughts

I had re-used a pic from my introduction posting last Summer, but somehow it didn't work: I needed more postings first. So, with a total of 5 postings, here we go again. Pic from the seller, last August: - The horse boxes are straight ahead. One is partly broken down and will act as the...
