They really don't do storm braces much any more. The newer garage doors are a bit thicker and hurricane rated.

Not true...with the gateway I can view open/close or open/close from anywhere. I've done it (so far) from over 25 miles away.

Chamberlain makes an internet gateway that plugs into your router in your house. You can control the opening and closing of the doors from your computer or smartphone. Their Garage Door Monitor that tells you if your garage door is open/closed from any room in your home. With the Internet...

I changed the garage door opener to a Chamberlain 3/4-HP MyQ Battery Backup Belt Door Opener. The control panel (it's no longer a doorbell style button) has a motion sensor that turns its light on. Yepper, I like it.

Tell me why?...except for the fact that you can't run engines in the garage afterwards. I realize that the carbon monoxide will go into the return and into the house if I do.
