    Makita power head question

So as a follow up, I was able to return the Makita to Home Depot and ordered a replacement. The replacement works fine (still XGT 40V), but I'm having second thoughts about battery life. I do a decent amount of edging with the string trimmer and I can only seem to get about 15 minutes of work...

    Makita power head question

So I bought a Makita string trimmer and I’m trying to insert the attachment into the shaft and I can’t physically force the attachment into the power head. I have the locking lever rotated so it’s pointing away from the power head, aligning the attachment with the shaft nub going into the slot...

Black and decker weed eater finally died, what should I get next?

After a hearty case of analysis paralysis, I've decided to go for the Makita XGT taking the plunge into that brand. While I have a string trimmer pretty well settled, I'm considering the possibility of adding more brush clearing capability. The HOA is looking for volunteers and down the road...

Black and decker weed eater finally died, what should I get next?

I could try to fix it. The motor still works but the head just stopped spinning. The weed eater is at least 15 years old, and my issue is whether this is the start of a parade of issues, and with family I’m kind of strapped for time. I’m not in a rush to get rid of it, but I need something to...

Black and decker weed eater finally died, what should I get next?

So I have an old Black and Decker GH1000 that finally kicked the bucket. I’m really fond of it for the feature that rotates the shaft so the head is vertical for edging without having to hold the weed eater at an awkward angle. Of course the cord made things a little cumbersome. I’m in the...

    Preferred countertop tile repair adhesive?

When you say undercut the adjacent tiles, are you saying to grind away a little bit of that adhesive to be able to get a shim to fit underneath? Are you suggesting that the shim should be glued along with the replacement tile? Sorry I'm a tile noob.

    Preferred countertop tile repair adhesive?

The piece is in a fairly unobtrusive location, so I don't mind trying to just compromise to save effort. As far as I can tell, the plywood has no deterioration.

    Preferred countertop tile repair adhesive?

Got a picture. Not exactly sure what adhesive was originally used, but maybe the color can give a clue. I do have grout cracking in isolated areas but I find it to be fairly minimal and don’t particularly want to turn this into a bigger project.

    Preferred countertop tile repair adhesive?

So, in the process of cleaning up some caulk to respond to an ant invasion, I ended up cracking an edge piece of tile off of a bar countertop that's structurally made of plywood. I've never repaired kitchen countertop tile. I have some grout from the original installation from the contractor...

Alright leaf people, what's the best way

My property is small enough that a push mower with a bag will collect them, then I empty those bags into a wheelbarrow and cart them to a secluded spot to dump and spread.

Vinyl lattice on a vinyl post fence

I'll keep that in mind after I try to build one of them. Cheers!

Vinyl lattice on a vinyl post fence

The vinyl lattice would still need to be zip tied in some fashion to stay on during windy days. The vinyl cap material has a recessed notch that supports the lattice in a normal installation, and I would be removing material up to but not including the notch around each post. The lower part of...

Vinyl lattice on a vinyl post fence

There is nothing that prevents them from flying over the fence, but I have not once in my 10+ years here see them fly into my enclosed back yard. Ducks yes on rare occasions. Yes it's a picket fence.

Vinyl lattice on a vinyl post fence

I have been dealing lately with some geese snacking on my yard through a vinyl post fence. I'd like to try to cut some vinyl lattice and zip tie it to deter the extra snacking. There is the quick way which is just ripping the vinyl lattice and zip tying it to the vinyl posts. The lattice...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Did you find a polesaw/pruner that you liked? There's so many choices and different price points that I'm in analysis paralysis.
