Show us Your Vintage Bench Grinders!!!!

WWIIjeep.... Thank you very much for the information. I have an opportunity to get a Delta exactly like your 1945. A friend, who owes me some money, has offered me his restored grinder to settle the score. This is why I was asking about the value. If I get it, I will post a photo. Thanks again.

What would you say the value of this grinder would be today on the used tool market?

    Snap-On's warranty...

According to Snap On's written warranty policy, before they will process a warranty, the following information is required: (1) date and proof of purchase (2) where customer purchased the product (3) full name (4) shipping address (5) phone number (6) e-mail address (7) item number(s) My guess...

    Snap-On's warranty...

I stand corrected. I did not know the palm control ratchets were manufactured in the Facom plant. But TODAY, ALL SK tools are made in USA. I'd like to know if any of the other major tool manufacturers can make that claim, if anyone knows.

    Snap-On's warranty...

Now this drives home the point I was trying to make way back in the beginning. Something to think about for anyone investing in Snap On tools.

    Snap-On's warranty...

Yes, at one point SK merged with Facom tools, a French based company, and a limited number of tools were manufactured in France, mostly screwdrivers, never any sockets or ratchets. Today, ALL SK tools are made in USA.

    Snap-On's warranty...

Something I found very interesting is the differences in the major tool manufacturers websites concerning warranty information. Of all of them, I found SK the easiest to find. It's right up front on the website, no searching necessary. There is a big block labeled WARRANTY for you to click on...

Signing off for now guys.... Thanks for the interesting and informative debate.

    Snap-On's warranty...

Yes, even giant corporations make errors that they soon have to reverse. Remember when the "new coke" quickly took Coca-Cola out of first place in the soft drink world when it was rejected by the consumer? They quickly reverted back to "Classic Coke". And by the way, recovered nicely!

    Snap-On's warranty...

I agree they sell a quality tool and have for years, and I'm sure my fathers hardly ever failed. I'm not arguing that point at all.

    Snap-On's warranty...

Yes, I have, and again, only my opinion, but what I get out of it is inconsistancy. If they feel they need separate policies for the private and business sector, why not make two different quality tools, Snap On and Snap On "professional", like Craftsman does? Just a thought.

    Snap-On's warranty...

    Now THAT is a warranty!

Certainly making lots of money, no doubt about that! And, they have a loyal following that any rock star would envy!
