I cut a larger piece of 1" thick MDF to fit the bottom shelf. Then I constructed a small piece out of 2x4's to raise it up a bit more. So in all it is raised up about 2.5 inches off the bottom shelf of the cart.

Well I liked the idea of making the HF 4 drawer into a welding cart like a few others have done. See posts by borgdog and hackwelder in this thread. I originally had the "free" cart with my Hobart 140. It worked but didn't have anything to hold the leads and honestly wasn't very useful...

I had some extra stuff laying around. Wanted to make some push up stands that were not made of thin steel and fasteners. So I came up with these. I guess it is time to do some push ups now!

If you are limited to 120V in your shop the Handler 140 is pretty great. I really like mine and thought it was a fair deal at $499 and it came with a Hobart Welding Cart too. If you can grab it at $450 that is great. Just make sure it is the new model with 5 voltage settings.
