Bill, after looking at CL I found a lot of them are 3 phase. Also if it is not set up you can't see it operate. The ones that are set up they want your to disassemble and move. Boost, are you referring to hoists that were exposed to rain? I am now planning on the car port idea, combined with wrapping with a tarp to avoid any wind driven rain. I will also coat any exposed metal parts with marine grease.

Wizard, I would certainly grease down any parts with no paint. I would not leave it in direct exposure to rain either.

I absolutely agree! If you are goiong to freeze your **** off you might as well do it in a comfortable position!
