SK Tools Free hat and catalog!

A little different, but similar. I signed up for the Free Napa Carlyle club, not expecting anything. Then BAM!!! A box shows up with a membership card, a catalog, a pen and last but not least, a free hat. I thought that was a cool gesture and will in turn return the favor by treating myself to...

    Sears RHFT

Nice collection you have there. Your truck is cool too. I have a soft spot for old workhorses. I only have one 1/4" RHFT that I picked up at a swap meet a few years ago for $4. I didn't know how special they were till I came to GJ. Now I want more. Buttery smooth goodness.

Found a line that my Wright line wrench wouldn't budge

I'm just curious where the wax comes in? I've never heard of this process. What type of wax is used and how does it help free a frozen fastener?

Tools at the Indy 500, Part 2

Thanks James. You solved the mystery for me. Somebody mentioned that SO sold them, but are expensive. I still didn't have a name to search them out. Thanks to you I have found several suppliers including Sears. Now I can begin my race team box build. :3gears:

i need a socket/driver that fits this bolt head

Snap on makes a socket for certain kinds of shocks that kind of have that shape, but I am not certain if they make one that will fit that. Here is one, but that area looks kind of tight to the cover. http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/tools.asp?tool=all&Group_ID=675666&store=snapon-store

    Let's see your toolbox.

Cool job. My dream was always to become an aircraft mechanic. Maybe someday.;) Is that a T-28 Trojan I spy there. Those things are sweet! edit: I see now that it is CJ6. Never seen one before.

    Wrench vs Crows Foot

Yeah, when I was working on said Chevy, the union was deep between the inner sheet metal and the fuel tank. I put the flare in place up against the tank then fed the crowfoot with extension from the wheel opening to the union. It was a pain in the a$$, but it worked. Better than having to drop...

    Wrench vs Crows Foot

If this is going to be primarily for this project, you could save some money by finding the sizes you actually need and then go on ebay and purchase just those wrenches and or crowfoot individually. Doing it this way you will save money plus the added benefit of being able to buy the nicer high...

    Wrench vs Crows Foot

There have been times when I had to use both. The rear brake line that runs just inside the fender of the box on a 1999 3/4ton Chevy truck, but that was a rare occasion. If it were me I would start with the flare nut set first and get the crow foot as needed. If money is not a problem, I would...

    it's 2013 garage sale season!...

Thank you for the info. I was thinking in the direction of a wood blade. Once again I was wrong. Thanks for setting me straight. :lol_hitti

    it's 2013 garage sale season!...

Madison, nice haul. Especially that Craftsman brick set. I have one of those blade balancers as well. How the heck do you use it? Do you grind material off the blade an the heavier side? Was the balance of the blade a common problem back in the day? Is there any use for one in this day and...

    Cornwell tools?

I've seen the Cornwell truck in Ann Arbor, Michigan several times and the other brands too. Mostly I see them at the car dealers on Jackson road, but I'm sure they hit all the dealers in the area. I own a little bit of their stuff, but would like to a lot more.

    Fixing Belt Sander

I have a welder so that would be my first route, but before I had a welder, I would have went to a metal supplier or even Lowes and bought a piece of metal angle stock. Drill some holes and bolt it up(Garage door hangars have holes pressed into them already). Essentially you are making a...

    Wow, That's a tool store

Thanks for the link. That's exactly what I was talking about. I really love the segment on the guy that builds awesome cars from complete garbage and the owner of RWB the Porsche tuner. That stuff is really inspiring.
