I use an 20" AirKing 9166 mounted in a window. Low 2510, med 3120 & high 3560 CFM that is also reversible. Works well & I can bring in cool air at night using reverse to cool the garage for the next day. About $160 or so delivered.
Inside the house I spray a 50%/50% mixture of dishsoap & vinegar in a spray bottle on them. Kills them quick, no smell other than the vinegar.
Or I trap them a empty water bottle.
Sealing the openings will reduce them in the house. I have not found anything that keeps them off the cedar sided...
I have radiant floor heating & would never go back. I've been in shops with a single forced air unit & a single radiant tube. The forced only seems comfortable when the unit is on. The radiant tube warms everything in the room so the floor & everything you touch is warm. Although placement is an...
When I started planning in '05 OSB was over $21 in Ohio. I kept looking price dropped to $13.00. So I ordered it June with a 50% deposit & they held the price when they delivered in August. The $21 price was blamed on hurricanes. I needed 160 sheets.
I built 28' x 60' using 14" tall I-Joists. As I remember, the spec was 14"o.c., but we used 12"o.c.. With 2x6" walls, 9'' ceiling & full second floor. The net result is a completely open floor plan.

I've had slab heat since 2006. I'm in Medina so I suspect we have the same weather. In 2005 the gas budget billings was $160 / per month without the garage. Now it's at $115 / per month with the garage. (We are using more ccf, but the costs are down.) From 2010 through this month the house &...
That included the slab. I removed the old slab myself & hauled it away. We hired three framers & supplied three free workers. Finished the roof, siding & inside ourselves.

I use the Raynor Affina door R18 (so they say). I only use a single door in a heated garage & it's not bad for heat loss. I may build a set of swinging insulating in front of the Raynor doors to help. I keep the garage heated around 63 with R19 walls & R38 rafters. Garage is 28 x 60, 12/12 pitch...
