amazon ball joint press good price

Yeah it looks like the HF one. I've used mine a bunch with an impact gun, just make sure to oil the threads before use and you should be fine.

Add Registers or add a return?

I hear what you are saying. Around me things are a lot different to what I was familiar with when I lived in NJ and PA. Flex duct is used almost exclusively here. There's no way you could ever clean the flex duct if it needed it. Even the returns are big *** flex duct.

Add Registers or add a return?

Added another 6" dia run from the plenum to the center of the ceiling. Made a noticeable difference but I think I will need to add another run to get the desirable results when it is 90+ outside. Not pleasant work, it was hot and sweaty and I ended up with insulation clinging all over but at...

Add Registers or add a return?

I think I might have a temp probe that works with my multimeter I will check. The AC unit is actually as close as or closer to that room than any of the others so I don't think heat gain in the roof space is likely to be the issue.

Add Registers or add a return?

Thanks for the replies. The house is relatively new, less than 4 years old, and I can see almost all the flexible ducting in the roof space and it all looks in very good shape with no crimps or leaks. I don't have a flow meter but the airflow is good out of all the registers, subjective I...

Add Registers or add a return?

We have 2 zone heat / AC in our house and the issue I have is with the upstairs. The configuration is typical with a single register over each window in each of the rooms, however one of the rooms is significantly larger and has a high vaulted ceiling compared to the other rooms, even with the...

    Mini split BTU question

I have a 12,000 BTU Mitsu mini split in my 20 x 30 shop and I would say that it does fine for the shop but does not get the temps to what you might want in the house. I don't think the 24,000 BTU will be too big.

detched garage - simple heating options

Not the most economical to purchase but for something that works great at low energy usage look at mini split systems such as the Mitsubishi Mr Slim. I have a wall mounted inverter unit in a work space roughly the size of yours and it is perfect in the winter for heat and in the summer for...

    HVAC questions

Mini splits are excellent. Look at the Mitsubishi Mr Slim line. It may be overkill for what you need but they work extremely well, are very quiet and don't cost much to run. I have a 12,000 BTU unit in my detached garage and am very happy with it.

Any pros or cons on Cork Laminate?

I believe that APC was the brand that I used. We had the floor down for about 10 years before we moved and it lasted very well in the kitchen and breakfast area. I did poly the whole floor once I had it down to seal over the joints. We loved the cork floor as I said above very warm under foot.

Any pros or cons on Cork Laminate?

Is that the real cork laminate or stuff that just looks like cork? I used the real cork to do the kitchen floor in my last house and loved it. Very warm under foot and forgiving if you drop anything. It also kills sound very well. However it will not stand up to any of the abuse you are...

    Hi from NC

Just found this forum and thought I would say Hi! Great stuff on here, it's going to take a long time to pick through all the interesting threads. :eyecrazy: So after spending many years working on everything from wood working to car projects in the driveway or crammed in a small single bay I...
