Your ratchets sound like the Big Dawg series of Proto ratchets. They were very short lived & quickly discontinued. Repair kits are tough to get these days . I have a few miscellaneous parts, but no complete kits. eBay is pretty much your only option.

Yes they can be removed.

Contact Proto, but you will need to mail it in to the QA department for review and if they decide to warranty it. Be prepared for a 6-12 week wait.

I am one of those that are interested in the 1st generation Kobalt tools . They have been difficult for me to find in the wild. I do actively search for them.

How much did that set cost ? Part # of the set?

Is this a pass through ratchet? Do you have a picture of the ratchet? If it is a pass though then parts will be tough, some Matco special forces ratchet parts will fit because Armstrong made both the Eliminator series and the Special Forces ratchets for Matco. Hope this helps!

I have used mine several times times over the last few weeks and I do like them. The flat tips are different on the bigger sizes. They are holding up well. Only thing is they are a bit plump. I plan on adding a few more in the near future.
