    Paramo, Record, & Woden used 00 for 2 in. (actually 2 1/4 in.)., a no. 0 is 2 1/2 in. A no. 1 was 3 in., a no. 2 would be 3 1/2 in.

Here’s a neat little vise that fits in with my collection of small vises. Jaws are 1 1/8 in. wide and it is 4 7/8 in. long. If you look closely you can see that it has a rear dovetailed dynamic slide. For what I assume was a vise used as a “give away”, it is surprisingly well made. It appears to...

It looks more like a “knock-off of a Cole. The coles usually have a very heavy anvil pad that bolts to the bench and their jaws aren’t bolted on the way SkyPuncher’s are. Here’s a link to a Cole catalog. https://archive.org/details/ColeToolMfgCo/page/n1/mode/2up

Thanks va, I’m with you, I don’t think it had much use. Certainly no abuse. That is pretty much the way I got it. I wiped it down with Rem- oil to get the dust and loose stuff off, and then left it alone. There wasn’t any rust, except on the two tin plates. I cleaned them a little and called it...

Here’s my favorite vise. A 2 1/2 in. Massey Lightening Vise complete with all the usual missing parts. From what I have found, the smallest they made. It may be small but there is a lot of iron in it. Weight is 19 lbs 13.8 ozs. It appears to have seen little use. Minimal wear and everything...

Viceroy, I’ve had a couple also where the rear jaw was tight in spots. After trying different ideas to loosen it that didn’t work I hit on one that did. I got some valve lapping compound from Amazon in two different grits. One that was fine and a coarser one. My logic was that I would use the...

If you put the washer cutter together like the picture shows, and put the round part of the holder on top of the square flat under the jaws, then when you close the jaws this is supposed to tighten the cutters in the hole. Just make sure the washer cutters are perpendicular to the jaw opening.
