    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

Strut Spring Compressor - FAIL After the second spring, the threads were almost gone. I replaced the threaded rods with stronger steel and still use the brackets. Otherwise, it's junk: Brake Caliper Tool Set - PASS - worth it's weight in gold! Having VW's, you have to rotate the rear...

Mom and Dad's new Garage Floor - TuffSeal Tile

Granted, it wasn't my house, but my folks were very pleased with it. The justification of the additional cost has to be your call. This was installed in Mississippi. The south doesn't have the cold extremes like you do in Minnesota.

Mom and Dad's new Garage Floor - TuffSeal Tile

The folks are a bit nomadic and moved out of the house with the aforementioned tile last year. After 2 years of wear between foot traffic (chlorinated pool water included), 1 car, 1 lawn tractor, numerous homebrew batches, etc., it was doing a wonderful job with no complaints.

Craftsman Tap & Die Set - Antique? Value?

I stumbled across what appears to be a nice old Craftsman Tap and Die set at a yard sale today. It's all in a very nice old wooden box with simple hinges and hook latches. All the labels appear to be there. I am trying to find the value of it, but can't find anything anywhere! Anyone able...

    Here's a variant on sockets I hadn't seen before.

Literally: Doubling hitting a corner key set of box spanner. What that really means: Double ended keyway socket wrenches

Mom and Dad's new Garage Floor - TuffSeal Tile

I'll see if dad will snap some for me. They're 17 hours drive from here so he has to do it for me. Mikey

    Three cent craftsman pliers

Darn it...they canceled mine too. I was planning a nice array of Christmas presents for my friends. Now I will have to go shopping, or just buy them a beer  Mikey

Mom and Dad's new Garage Floor - TuffSeal Tile

Yeah, Dad says its as easy as using a light mop for the sticky dried on stuff or a broom for the loose stuff. Very easy.

Mom and Dad's new Garage Floor - TuffSeal Tile

Dad said it went in really easy. He has a nice old leather mallet and it just tapped right into place. Measure twice, cut once, you know the old adage. It's also important to figure out your pattern first. No real tips for installation otherwise. Here's some pics of the tile itself to show...

Mom and Dad's new Garage Floor - TuffSeal Tile

Sorry for the delay. Dad and mom both love the floor. The garage doubles as the pool house so people go in there all the time with wet feet. The old VCT on the floor was very slick when wet. This is very sturdy and rather non-slip. I actually got to see it for the first time this morning in...

    New barn/garage

I may have to come by and check it out... ;-) I drive through Annapolis all the time on the way to Calvert Co. Mike

I'll have to ask him for some feedback on the floor now that its been in a while and it has seen vehicle use and general garage use...

Never Look a Gift Horse In the Mouth - aka Free Tools

He doesn't use them, no knowledge how. He probably got them from someone else too... He knows that my buddy and I use our tools literally every day!!! Went to a better home I suppose! mikey

I knew you guys would know...talk about a wealth of knowledge. Just to beat a dead horse (while were on equine discussion), I really love free tools. mikey

Never Look a Gift Horse In the Mouth - aka Free Tools

My buddy was over at a friend's house when her dad insisted that he no longer needed his 2 toolboxes of miscelaneous tools. After my friend got through picking out what he wanted, I got the rest. Not bad for free tools. They will go in one of the "beat-em-up" tool boxes that goes anywhere...
