Klein makes one with one 6" long shank and a set of #30 all security bits at Amazon or about $30. Amazon has a regular bit Klein add on that has #30 non security bits so that with the two you have #60 bits with both type in two matching blocks with every bit you could need.

The problem could be in the next outlet back and it could have a loose/bad neutral connection that is where the heat is going to be. But you need to turn off that circuit and then look at outlets that are now dead until you find the one with the bad connection. Hope the surgery turns out OK.

I can't tell you which are supposed to have check balls in them, but you should be able to tell as the ports that had check ball would have ground, smooth seat for the ball to contact not just a drilled hole. Clean and look at them and you should be able to tell.
