1-1/2" is one of the standard nut sizes for trailer balls I believe. I would get it as tight as you can with a 2 foot breaker bar to skip using a big expensive torque wrench. Estimate 125# on that breaker bar and you got 250 ft/#.

I'm a DIYer, but when ever I need to break tie rod jam nuts free, I use a combination of PB Blaster, vise grips, a pipe wrench, and a couple 12" adjustable wrenches. Sometimes heat if needed. I have the Knipex adjustable pliers too which make quick work of turning the inner for a toe adjustment...

It looks like the gear and pawl match, but I opened it up again and it looks like the pawl has a little ridge on one end of it. It's hard to see, but I can feel it with a pick running down the teeth. I'm thinking this might be what's causing mine to skip so often? I'll email Armstrong this week...

I bought a 3/8 Armstrong flex Maxx recently from Advance during the black friday sales. I ended up receiving the 60 tooth. I have yet to use it yet doing any real work, but just playing with it with a socket on it, the teeth skip and grind horribly every now and then. Has anyone else experienced...
