what to do to stop tools from rusting

Most of the guys on here suggest coating them with oil after cleaning them up. As far as a brand, I don't know what they suggest.

    A Beautiful Handle

I'm not really impressed by most of Home Depot's hardware department, but that is definitely one of the items that is nice that they carry. And it's US made, what else could you ask for?

    Pocket Knives

Yeah, I don't like the fact that it gets dirt and grit inside the bushings which reduces the smoothness of the opening, so I have to clean it every few months. That and the black paint chipping off the blade. Other than that I love that knife. Same here. I got myself one of their Husky...

    Pocket Knives

Gerber Mini Covert. It's a slightly smaller version of a real combat knife, hence the spear point and balanced symmetry of the knife. I currently have it disassembled for cleaning and sharpening. It's only my second time sharpening a knife on a stone, so we'll see how that goes.

help with lighting for tool pics

Tools have a lot of details that cameras may or may not catch (depending on the settings and experience of the photographer). I suggest using Photoshop to retouch the images for color, brightness, and the whole nine yards. Moreover, I suggest using the Unsharp Mask. It basically adds white to...

    Bonney Tools Ratchet

Yeah, I was the initial bidder which would have left it at like $10 shipped. I haven't bid since it went up to like $15 haha. Still, it does have a nice figure as far as ratchets go :P

    Bonney Tools Ratchet

I was browsing ebay last night and found this Bonney Tools ratchet. It looks pretty nice, and I think it's from WWII era. I was trying to bid on it, but I don't know how high I'm willing to go. Anyone know anything about the company or the ratchet itself? It looks pretty cool, and has a...

    Husky impact sockets! Any good?

I believe Home Depot owns Husky and I'd be willing to bet they are made in China. However, most of the Husky stuff comes with a "Limited Lifetime Warranty" nowadays. I think they're kinda mid-grade tools. They're pretty good, but certainly not the best. Also, some of their tools seem to be...

    Thewlis & Co Calipers???

I e-mailed Jim Bode, from the eBay auction and he shot me back and e-mail saying they appear to be from the mid-1800's, which is pretty cool. Maybe I'll clean them off... maybe not. Here's some pics. This is actually upside down, but it's where the name is:

    Work Boots

I got a nice pair of Wolverine's off of Zappos.com that I like. I smeared them with waterproofing then too before the first wear. They also upgraded me to next day shipping for some reason. I guess it was just convenient and they swung something for me. It was great...
