Electrical Rough-In in a Metal Building?

I'm sure sprayed insulation has it's place, but left open in an area that is subject to welding/grinding is problematic, in my opinion. We've had several incidents in our area. This was spray-foamed two years before the fire, which supposedly started after some welding. Sent from my SM-N910V...

    How bright should I go?

I've retrofitted some troffer lights from 277v to 120v T8 and installed eight per 20x30x12' bay x3. Six switches controlling four lights each, one breaker per bay. Seems to work out fine...definitely bright enough. Traded a couple of cases of beer to a electrical contractor who was going to...

Suggested Lay out of a 32' (wide) by 30' pole barn

I put my lift dead-center in my 30' deep shop. I can lift my crewcab shortbed superduty with about a foot of clearance at the door. Have workbenches across back wall...haven't had any problems with placement yet. If you have a 10' tall conventional panel garage door open, the back top of the cab...

Couple questions installing 2 post lift

Kyle, did you torque the anchor bolts to the specified torque value? I torqued mine to around 75 ft lbs, as called for in the paper instructions that came with it. After a dozen lifts, I decided to retorque, and went to the online installation manual, which called for 150 ft lbs. Some of the...

What are your thoughts on this C/L compressor?

redmondjp, regardless of location, it's unheated. Our temps seldom get lower than the teens, and usually not for long...another reason I love Texas. I have a single-stage 60 gal Sanborn in my welding shop and haven't had problems with I in the cold.

What are your thoughts on this C/L compressor?

I plan to put the compressor in a lean-to off the back of the shop...so noise shouldn't be a major concern. No, as with most CL listings here, they hadn't taken it down after selling.

What are your thoughts on this C/L compressor?

Trey T, it's my personal shop, and I'm just setting it up, but every dollar that I don't spend on capability I won't max out in equipment is money for more equipment. Basically, the 80 gal Husky does seem like it'd be a good choice. I wanted a 1750 rpm motor, but since it's not everyday use, I...
