    Washington Rain Bunker

Hi neighbor! Looks like your garage turned out fine, in spite of the problems! Would you recommend your contractor? I'm planning on adding a shop to our new house - also in Olalla - next spring.

Vincent - $30K for yours gives me about $24K finished similarly - that might work! So yours is insulated/drywall? They do the electrical also? Any plumbing - water/air? Darby - looks good!! What do you use yours for?

Anyone know building codes for detached garages in Seattle?

And if you can place the garage with standard setback, would be even easier to get approved. I do know Seattle/King County can be a pain getting permits thru plan check - have you thought about getting away from the city/county? Rich

Anyone know building codes for detached garages in Seattle?

I'd start here if you're in the city - http://www.seattle.gov/dpd/permits/ or http://www.seattle.gov/dpd/permits/ for uninorporated King County GOOD LUCK! Rich

Left over materials from siding and roofing project - Who do they belong too?

I believe it's yours - you (your insurance company) paid for it - NOT you contractor. I'd return it to the building supply, & I'd talk to you insurance conpany about who gets the bucks! It should be them since they paid, but it's their call...

recommend studded winter tires for ram pickup?

Any SIPED tire is an improvement over studded - and unlike studs, don't destroy the highway - my rant.....

Tired of mowing my driveway... Any suggestions?

I also have a gravel drive - I use my propane weed burner - kills it, but within a couple weeks the grass looks better than before I burnt it. I give up! Rcih

Where's the general FAQ for the complete noob?

Yep - what most said - times 10!! We were one of the first in a small HOA - about 45 1-acre lots. Was great for the first few years - large private park - had great July 4th partys with fireworks - then the worst happened. One of the owners died & his wife sold their house to a retired couple...

Using rubber air hose to plumb shop..

About 15 years ago, working in a film processing house, we ran a similar system with approx 200 drops for assorted machines. Was easy to work with, had no problems with moisture, even with the compressors on the roof, and was still working fine last I heard - 5 or 6 years ago. Rich

Try POR-15 - they have a kit for cleaning/treating steel gas tanks - was about $80 a couple years ago. Rich

Garage Air Lines: Rapid Air, Opinions ?

Don't think it was that brand, but I ran over 2000 ft of it in several buildings, with a couple hundred drops - worked great! this was 15 years ago - some of it still in use. Also used inside 15 heavy-use machines with no leaks, & easy to service . Used both metal & plastic connectors...
